About Me:

Hi EVERYBODY, Nala here! I have been with my foster mom dad for 5 months. I came to them from a shelter in Kingman, AZ. My former family sadly came on to some hard times and couldn't keep me. I’m about 7 years old and very smart. I learn super fast. I know basic house manners and am getting better and better every day walking through our neighborhood without "yelling" at trucks and other dogs. I have had some help from a professional trainer to work on being a good citizen. I know sit, wait, down, touch, and out (out of the kitchen!). I love to cuddle with you on the sofa or bed but will get off if told. I'm a happy girl who loves big people but I don't care much for the little ones so I need a home with no young children. I also don't like girl dogs very much but boy dogs are ok to live with. I’ve had a medical issue (incontinence) most of my life and my foster mom dad along with the undying support of AZBCR have spent the last 5 months taking care of me and getting me the medical help I need. My condition is called ectopic ureter and I have had 2 surgeries to correct it. With the additional help of medicine, I am now doing really well and I feel so much better!! In my recent past, I weighed a whopping 81 pounds. With the help of many rescue volunteers over the last year or so, I’ve lost about 30 pounds. I still need to lose more and I hope my new furever family keeps me on a good weight loss program. I love to go on walks and might enjoy some hikes if you’ll take me. I love to chase a ball and play with toys but I’m not obsessive about it and I have a good off switch. If you are interested in meeting me, please fill out an application! Looking forward to meeting you!

How the AZBCR Found Me

A big-hearted AZBCR volunteer arranged for me to be transferred from a small Kingman Shelter to AZBCR.
