How does a loyal companion who enjoys snuggle sessions every night sound? Elvis is your cuddle bug! A big teddy bear guy with lots of love to give! He will be your shadow and follow you around wherever you may want to go. Elvis is a beautiful border collie mix who is easy on the eyes and a major crowd pleaser due to his cuddly teddy bear charm. He is on the bigger side and quite strong. Leash manners are still being worked on, but when walked alone he does nicely beside you. If he sees another dog or human he will pull. Elvis is highly treat/food motivated, which is helpful for training. He is not as interested in toys, but will play fetch or hold/play with a stuffed animal. He shows some signs of wanting to play with other dogs but is also ready to relax with you on or near the couch. Elvis has a clam disposition. He enjoys going for walks/jogs but settles down nicely in the home when there is not a lot of action happening. He likes to follow wherever you may be going. He is low drive, doesn't seem to want to herd at all. He would be happy with a family that is semi active but lots of lounge time together. Elvis has shown to be very will behaved in the home alone, he does not like being in a crate during the day when you are away and quite the escape artist. He was not destructive or bad in the home so a crate does not seem necessary. He wears a belly band in the home but is easily corrected not to mark in the home. During our time together Elvis informed foster Mom that he does not enjoy being "corrected" by other high drive dogs, and also doesn't appreciate dogs with attitude around their food/treats. If there is another dog in the home, it would be best to be paired with a docile dog who doesn't have a lot of herding drive or food aggression.
How the AZBCR Found Me
Elvis came to AZBCR from New Mexico where he was chained up outside of his home. The neighbor convinced the prior owner to release him so he could be in a loving home. He had been lured in with treats in the past and beaten. He was transported from NM to AZ for a new start!
