Trainers for Herding and/or Agility
For Active Dogs in Arizona
HERDING – Training facilities and trialing sites tend to be the same places. Most herding events occur in semi-rural areas (both training and trialing). All listed trainers will provide instinct tests at a nominal fee, and then private lessons should one wish to continue with training for their dog. Another source of information about herding is the Arizona Herding Association, website: www.arizonaherding.com

AGILITY – In agility there are basically two types of training opportunities, agility clubs and private trainers. Many of the private trainers also offer training opportunities in other dog sports (Frisbee, Rally and Competition Obedience, Behavior issues, Trick training, puppy socialization, etc.)
Clubs:
Agility clubs typically put on several trials (competitions) a year and operate with students as volunteers assisting with putting on shows and setting up and taking down equipment for classes. Classes are held at a public site or training facility rented or owned by the club. Classes are usually taught by club members with a higher level of agility experience than they level they are teaching.
